Friends and Family Day

CARROLLTON, GA - Carrollton will be hopping this weekend as the University of West Georgia kicks off the football season at Grisham Stadium and students have an opportunity to show off their new “home.”

The Department of Student Activities will host its annual Friends and Family Day on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13. The event will begin with a sibling sleep-over on Friday, and conclude with the Braves football game against Albany State on Saturday at 7 p.m.

UWG will host its second Sibling Sleepover during Family Day in which siblings over 12 years of age will have the opportunity to spend the night with their brother or sister in the residence halls.

On Saturday, a tailgate party before the Braves football game will include entertainment, a barbeque dinner, and family photos. Also, the UWG marching band and cheerleaders will perform.

Friends and Family Day began two years ago to allow parents and friends to see West Georgia in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. For more information, contact the Department of Student Activities at 770-836-6526.
