Stained Glass course offered

September 2, 2003

CARROLLTON, GA - If you love to create stained glass but find that the hardest part of the process is design, you will love Glass Eye software, and the University of West Georgia Department of Continuing Education is offering a class that can teach you to use it effectively.

Glass Eye was developed exclusively for stained-glass design and allows the user to design new patterns, resize existing patterns, import photos and convert them into patterns, add text to an existing design and experiment with color.

Using the program, participants can see what their finished product will look like on the computer screen before they ever cut a single piece of glass. This eliminates guessing and allows the user to visualize the finished piece before spending too much money.

Another great feature of the class is that it will offer students the opportunity to print enlarged patterns, which stained-glass shops usually do not have the ability to do. Also, students will be able to return to the lab and use the software for a small hourly fee.

The cost of the class is $59, and it is being offered on Tuesdays, Sept. 9 and 16, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Ingram Library Computer Lab. For more information or to register, contact the Department of Continuing Education at 770-836-6611.
