Vebal Judo course offered September 11, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - Ancient samurai warriors lived for their battles. Trained to view warfare as a sign of recognition and an opportunity to acquire more energy, they saw every battle as a chance to improve. Today’s daily battles tend to be verbal instead of physical, but they still offer opportunities for improvement. To prepare you for the communications battles you engage in every day, the University of West Georgia Department of Continuing Education will offer its Verbal Judo course at the Newnan Center in September. The class helps participants hone their communications skills and learn ways to improve interpersonal relations. Verbal judo is a set of easily learned skills that can help anyone appease disgruntled customers, handle angry encounters, deflate tense situations and improve customer relations, all while maintaining a professional demeanor and achieving a desirable outcome. Students will interact with an instructor who has helped a variety of organizations around the world to implement verbal judo to improve communications skills. Parents’ groups, librarians, corporate leaders and government officials have all found that verbal judo simply works. Sign up for Verbal Judo and learn to take charge, stay cool and lower your stress level with these unique skills designed to perform in today’s edgy world. The class will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the UWG Newnan Center. The $79 course fee includes a copy of the book Verbal Judo.
