Don McPherson Lecture September 5, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - Former All-American and NFL quarterback Don McPherson will speak at the University of West Georgia in his campaign to educate men on how they can improve their relationships and be more in touch with their emotions. The event is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 1305 of the TLC. McPherson’s goal is to inform students of cultural problems that are associated with masculinity. He is challenging men to take responsibility for their inappropriate male behavior. He helps men open up about sex, relationships and their emotions. McPherson has numerous athletic credentials. As a quarterback at Syracuse University, he was first in NCAA passing and led his team to an undefeated season. He also won 18 national collegiate player-of-the-year awards and held the distinction of being an All-American in two different sports, football and track. He then moved on to play with the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Oilers in the NFL. This event is sponsored by Health Services (Peer Education and One in Four), the Responsible Sexuality Committee, and the Sexual Assault Response Team. All students are welcome to come.
