UWG News PhotoCARROLLTON, GA - Three members of the Saudi Committee for the Development of International Trade were on the campus of the University of West Georgia and spoke to classes in the Richards College of Business. According to Dr. Skip Clark, chair of UWG’s Department of History, the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry sponsored a group of top-ranking business men and women to visit Atlanta to reach out to American opinion leaders by making presentation on the U.S.-Saudi relationship. Amr Khashoggi was one of the “highly successful, American-educated professionals from the private sector” who spoke to UWG economics and management students. Khashoggi is chairman and CEO of the Amkest Group, a holding company with interests in construction, manufacturing, packaging and transportation. He is also vice chairman of Modern Computers & Communication and president of Khashoggi Foundation. The other speakers (not pictured) were Omar Bahlaiwa, secretary general of the Saudi Committee on Development of International Trade, and Samar Fatany, senior announcer, talk show host and radio journalist for Radio Jeddah.
