African American Alumni Reunion

CARROLLTON, GA - African American alumni of the University of West Georgia are invited to take a “Journey Thru Time” at this year’s African American Alumni (AAA) Reunion scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6.
According to Frank Pritchett, assistant director of alumni services, activities will encompass four decades of the African American experience at West Georgia.
Beginning with lunch at 1 p.m. at the University Community Center (UCC), participants will enjoy a hamburger and hotdog cookout with all the trimmings. At 2 p.m., live entertainment will include the United Voices Choir, the UWG Dance Ministry and step shows by Greek organizations. Other activities include karaoke, card games and much more.
The UWG Braves take on the Valdosta State Blazers at Grisham Field at 7 p.m. and reunion attendees may purchase tickets at the special rate of $3 each. After the game, alumni are invited to Applebees for great food and extended visiting with friends.
The price for the AAA reunion is $20 and includes lunch and a t-shirt. Any alumni who were in a Greek organization and would like to participate in the step show should contact Pritchett at 770-836-6582. Reservations for the reunion may also be made by phoning Pritchett by Oct. 30.
