Depression and Anxiety screenings September 24, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - The Student Development Center and Health Services of the University of West Georgia are sponsoring a depression and anxiety screening on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. The screening is in conjunction with the National Depression and Anxiety Screening Day, which is held each year during Mental Illness Awareness Week. This week is designed to call national attention to the illness of depression, manic-depression, PTSD and anxiety, and educate the public about their symptoms and effective treatments. During this week individuals will have the opportunity to be screened for the disorders and to connect those in need of treatment to the mental health care system. The screening will be held in the Health Services Building on the University campus. This free service is offered to students, faculty, and staff of the University. -30- |
