EXCEL Seminar Schedule September 20, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - Taking a lead from the popular reality TV format, the EXCEL Center for Academic Success at the University of West Georgia is presenting a series of 14 student seminars called “Road Rules” for the fall semester. The seminars are geared to help students with problems they may face in their University career. “Road Rules” is this year’s take on the annual series designed to help students deal with a variety of subjects, including time management, critical thinking and problem solving, and test taking. Each session is designed to provide tips and techniques to help students do better in class. The series began in early September. The sessions will take place every week until Dec. 10 on Tuesday or Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. in Room 312 of the University Community Center (UCC). The next session, titled “Finding the Shortcut: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving,” will take place Wednesday, Sept. 29. Future sessions will cover topics such as “How to Read and Navigate Textbooks” and “Taking In, Recording/Retaining Info.” The EXCEL Center is committed to the promotion of academic success through programming to all UWG students.
