Knitting course offered September 22, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - An estimated 24 million people enjoy knitting, but it doesn’t take nearly that many stitches to create a scarf. In fact, you could join the ranks of knitting enthusiasts by devoting only two evenings to the in-demand “Knitting” course offered by the University of West Georgia Department of Continuing Education. The course will begin with the fundamentals: yarn selection, proper tension, common stitches, casting on, and casting off a completed project. Your first project can be either a scarf or a purse, with yarns and textures you select. With individual attention from a knowledgeable instructor guiding you all the way, you’ll be pleased both with your results and the satisfaction this therapeutic activity provides. A course fee of only $35 covers two, two-hour sessions that include time to practice and complete your project. The cost of yarn and knitting needles will be extra. Classes will be held on Thursdays, Oct. 7 and 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the new Continuing Education classroom in Adamson Hall.
