UWG recognized by Princeton Review

September 10, 2004

CARROLLTON, GA - For the second consecutive year, The Princeton Review has named the University of West Georgia as “A Best Southeastern College.”

The Princeton Review published a new guidebook to colleges and universities across the Southeast in 2004 and UWG was included in the first edition listing the best 100 schools.

Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, UWG president, expressed his pleasure with the fact that UWG has been designated as a “Best Southeastern College” for the second year.

“It is a fitting honor for the faculty, staff and students of this great University,” he noted.
The Best Southeastern Colleges showcases the top schools in 10 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

This regional guide features two-page school profiles with information and data on admissions, financial aid, student body demographics and academics.

Dr. Robert Johnson, director of admissions at UWG, said, “We are proud to have been identified as one of the top colleges and universities in the Southeastern region by The Princeton Review, a most respected name in higher education, and we consider this to be quite an achievement.”

“It is significant that we are included along with outstanding educational peers such as Emory University, Vanderbilt University, Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia and Tulane University,” Johnson continued. “The University of West Georgia has much to offer students looking for a complete college experience, and we are appreciative of The Princeton Review's efforts to raise the public's awareness of quality institutions like ours,” Johnson noted.
