Constitution WeekSeptember 16, 2005
A federal law passed in 2005 requires any education institution receiving federal funds to hold an education program about the U.S. Constitution on Constitution Day. September 17 is celebrated as Constitution Day to acknowledge the signing of the Constitution in 1787. The September Project is a grassroots program that encourages library events on freedom, democracy and citizenship the week of September 11. Citizenship events on campus will conclude Friday, Sept. 16, at noon with a video broadcast of a conversation between Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Stephen Breyer.
