French Film SeriesSeptember 13, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - It’s time to don a Hoquy Beret and attend a cine du jour at Cinemathque, a University of West Georgia French film series. Sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Cinemathque will screen three critically acclaimed French films. The screenings will be shown in French with English subtitles at the Technology-Enhanced Learning Center, Room 1301. Below is a schedule and short summary of each film: “Viva Laldjerie,” Nadir Mokneche,” Oct. 6, 7 p.m.; three Algerian women struggle to define their roles in present-day Algeria. “Les Choristes,” Christophe Barratier, Oct. 25, 7 p.m.; a teacher’s passion for music makes a rough and tumble group of boys think about life. “Un tres long dimanche de fiancailles,” Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Nov. 10, 7 p.m.; a story of one woman’s devotion to her love in World War I.
