Homecoming events for alumniSeptember 23, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - Alumni are invited to a Mardi Gras-UWG Homecoming 2005 celebration of the University of West Georgia where reunions and tradition will reign for days. The first weekend event begins noon, Friday, Oct. 7, at Z-6 where the 1930s and 1940s Reunion begins with lunch and a group photograph. UWG music students will entertain with a festive performance. The President’s Continental Breakfast begins at 9 a.m., Saturday, at the Alumni House. The annual parade follows at 10 a.m. on Maple Street. After the parade, alumni and university officials will lunch together at the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association and Awards Luncheon. The awards luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m., and is followed by the Richards College of Business Open House and Reception from noon – 2 p.m. at Adamson Hall. Members of the class of 1955 can catch up on years gone by as they walk together along Front Campus Drive on the Class of 1955 Memory Walk at 3 p.m. In the evening, the Golden Alumni Society Wine and Cheese Reception is at 6 p.m. in the Hubbard Dining Room followed by the Golden Alumni Society Dinner. Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity will host its 30th Anniversary Alumni Dinner at Z-6. The black-tie affair begins at 7 p.m. and is a scholarship fundraiser. Tickets cost $25 each.
