Homecoming events for studentsSeptember 28, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - University of West Georgia students are invited to experience a UWG Mardi Gras Style 2005 Homecoming celebration with the Student Activities Council’s full week of activities scheduled Oct. 3- Oct. 8. For the weekend, fans will show their West Georgia pride at a Homecoming Pep Rally 7 p.m., Oct.7, outside the University Community Center (UCC). It will be followed by the annual Friday After Dark gathering at 8 p.m. Activities for the night include free massages, a Texas Hold’em tournament, grocery bingo, karaoke, a cookout and a live disc jockey. Crowning of the 2005 Homecoming King and Queen is scheduled Oct. 8 at the halftime of the UWG Braves - West Alabama Tigers football game. The game begins at 2 p.m. at Grisham Stadium. Other student activities include banner and Mardi Gras mask contests, a masquerade ball and a talk with Real World cast members Shavonda and Landon.
