UWG Professor writes book October 30, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - What is Ramsey Theory? This answer can be discovered in the latest book written by Dr. Bruce Landman, chairman of the Department of Mathematics at the University of West Georgia. The book explains the mathematical applications of Ramsey Theory, as well as provides students with an innovative look at this modern approach in mathematics. The book offers students a glimpse into the world of mathematical research and the opportunity to begin pondering unsolved problems themselves. “It’s biggest asset, and focus, is to get undergraduate students involved in doing research,” Landman explained. Along with his co-author Dr. Aaron Robertson of Colgate University, Landman compiled the publication for the American Mathematical Society. The book will be part of their series called Student Mathematical Library. The book is expected to be available in December of this year. -30- Use
