Marching Band performance October 29, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia, “The Sound That Lights the South,” Marching Band will present an indoor spectacular on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8:15 p.m. in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts on the UWG Campus.
The band will have additional visual and sound effects to enhance the performance. All of the music from the Beatles Show, the 80s Show, and the new Senior Show, will be performed. Cadences, drum-breaks and the season’s best dances will also be presented. Dr. Douglas R. Overmier, director of bands and instructor of percussion at UWG, said that as an incentive for high school students, they will be admitted free if they bring four friends to the concert. Every group of five or more high school students will be given vouchers redeemable for free tickets for the performance. All members of the party must be present to receive the free tickets. Ticket vouchers will be available at the door from uniformed UWG band members for such groups. The high school with the largest group will be given free pizza at the end of the concert.
