Plunkett-Buttimer is the chairman and CEO of Bowdon Manufacturing Company, a family-owned business, which manufactures men and women’s clothing for high-end retail stores, and LaMar Manufacturing Company. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Auburn University and her PhD from Georgia State University. Plunkett-Buttimer spoke to different classes on campus and shared her marketing and economics insights with students and faculty Oct. 19-20. Interim Dean of the Richards College of Business Dr. Faye McIntyre said the Executive-in-Residence program allows UWG to bring executives on campus to interact with faculty and students. “We are proud to have Dr. Buttimer join us as this year’s Executive-in-Residence. This program is an integral part of the Richards College of Business’ connection with our business community,” McIntyre said. “It is rewarding to have members of the business community contribute to our programs and Dr. Buttimer’s willingness to share her business experience adds to the educational experience of our students. We are grateful for her participation.” The UWG Richards College of Business’ goal is to provide quality business and professional education in a personal environment for students primarily from the west Georgia and Atlanta areas.
