Geological Society Meeting October 22, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - Several University of West Georgia professors will speak at the 116th annual meeting of the Geological Society of America on Nov. 7-10, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Approximately 6,200 geoscientists are expected to attend. UWG presenters will include: Julie Bartley, Brian Cowan, Randa Harris, Curtis Hollabaugh, Andrew Ivester, Philip Novack-Gottshall and Josh Prince. They will discuss a number of issues including, the effect rainfall has on the water quality of Little Tallapoosa River, bioaccumulation of Mercury in large catfish of the Coosa River and Surface-water/groundwater interaction beneath a Georgia piedmont Floodplain.
