Canned Food Drive October 27, 2004 CARROLLTON, GA - It is always better to give than to receive, and the brothers of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity at the University of West Georgia are doing just that. The largest national service fraternity is sponsoring a canned food drive Nov. 1-4 in an effort to help needy families in Carrollton. There will be three drives underway to challenge the campus and the local communities to give. Collection bins will be at two convenient locations for the community. The bins will be at Curves located on Highway 27 next to Tractor Supply and at City Hall in downtown Carrollton on Bradley Street. For the campus community, designated collection bins will be located in the University Community Center (UCC), Technology Learning Center (TLC), the Excel Center and the Education Building. Student organizations are being challenged to a canned food drive war. There will be bins set up in front of the UWG Ingram Library, also from Nov. 1-4, from 12 - 4 p.m. for participating organizations. The organization with the most donations will receive a prize. Come out and support a great cause and donate your canned foods and non-perishable items. For more information, contact the UWG Student Activities at 678-839-6526. -30- |
