Tuition Assistance Program

October 11, 2004

CARROLLTON, GA - The University System of Georgia Board of Regents is implementing a new assistance policy effective Nov. 1, 2004. The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) will replace the current tuition remission/reimbursement policy. This new program will take effect starting Spring Semester 2005.

A new University System application form must be used and can be obtained from the Human Resources Office or printed from the website at www.bf.westga.edu/hrpay. University System application deadlines are being implemented and will apply to all USG institutions. The deadlines are as follows: Spring 2005, Nov. 15; Summer 2005, April 15th; Fall 2005, July 15th. TAP applications received after the deadline will be returned as unapproved.

Participants must be employed at least six months in a full-time, benefits eligible position as of the date of the TAP deadline for the desired academic semester. The maximum number of credit hours allowed is eight hours regardless of the number of courses.

Each USG institution will continue to establish its own employee registration period, which will follow the regular student registration period.
