Fall Visitation Day

October 29, 2004

CARROLLTON, GA - Imagine a place where academic greatness and personal values merge seamlessly. It is a place that fosters the development of leaders and productive citizens who make a positive impact throughout society.

This is not some elaborate fantasy, it is a refreshing reality that can be found at the University of West Georgia. UWG is dedicated to “providing educational excellence in a personal environment” and prospective students as well as their parents are invited to see this firsthand on Visitation Day, Sunday, Nov. 7.

Check-in begins at 1 p.m. in the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Building with a welcoming session, featuring UWG President Dr. Beheruz N. Sethna, at 1:30 p.m.

A Departmental/Organizations Fair will be held in the University Community Center (UCC) from 2-4 p.m. It will focus primarily on student activities, organizations, and departmental services. Also being held in the UCC is an Admissions question and answer session from 3:30-4 p.m.

Throughout this time, campus tours will be provided on foot or by bus, and from 2:30-4:30 p.m. selected residence halls will be open for tours.

From 2-3:30 p.m., an academic fair in the Technology-enhanced Learning Center (TLC) Atrium will highlight various University departments. From 2:30-3 p.m. & 3:30-4 p.m. the TLC building will host a Financial Aid question and answer session as well as an Honors College information session. These sessions will continue from 3:30-4 p.m. along with a Transfer Student Information session.

In addition, the following will be open to visitors at different times throughout the day: the Baptist Student Union will be open from 1-5 p.m., the University Book Store will be open from 2-5 p.m. and both the Admissions Office and the Residence Life Office will be open from 3-5 p.m. in Mandeville Hall.

To conclude the day’s activities, a reception will be held in the UCC from 3:30-5 p.m.
