Mardi Gras beads at Friday After Dark

CARROLLTON, GA - Recruiting Emerging Alumni Leaders (REAL) at the University of West Georgia will be handing out Homecoming Mardi Gras beads at Friday After Dark on Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. to support the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
With any monetary donation, attendees of FAD will receive a bead with a commemorative Homecoming medallion attached. All proceeds go to the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.
“The Mardi Gras theme for Homecoming is very appropriate due to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in the New Orleans area. I am happy that REAL can be a part of rebuilding the areas affected by the storm,” said Charlotte Maumus, student coordinator of REAL and a New Orleans native.
