UWG student to appear on Three Wishes ShowOctober 20, 2005 CARROLLTON, GA - A University of West Georgia pre-med student will appear on the new Amy Grant show “Three Wishes” as the program highlights his brother’s wish come true. Courtney Johns of Warner Robbins and his family will be on the show Friday at 9 p.m. on NBC. Johns’ older brother, Johns Armstrong, 21, has a speech disability and wrote to the show asking for an expensive speech device that would allow him to speak more clearly. In addition to the device, Armstrong received speech therapy and on the show, his parents hear their son speak for the first time with the speech device. Armstrong, a Texas College student, was chosen out of 3,000 wishful candidates in Georgia. Grant and her “Three Wishes” cast and crew travel throughout the country to surprise well-deserving people and grant their wishes. The NBC series premiered one month ago and sets up wish tents in town squares to recruit wish guests. The upcoming show was filmed in Covington. -30- |
