Breath, Boom! Performances November 6, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia’s Theater Company presents Kia Corthron’s Breath, Boom at the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, Nov. 19, through Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 2:30 p.m. Breath, Boom is about a young woman named Prix (played by Andrea Washington of Newnan), who is a ruthless gang leader. Beginning in the mid-80s, the play is a chronicle of Prix’s journey from a bleak home life to prison and back again, as well as her relationships with her mother, peers and herself. Although her situation seems hopeless, she comes to terms with her past and the decisions she has made. Other cast members include Flo Bivins of Macon, Beth Cummings of Patterson, Marnesha Dukes of Atlanta, Tangela Harris of Lithonia, Adrie Keaton of Jonesboro, Kanard McCrary of Bremen, Sandtrice Russell of LaGrange, Annette Taylor of Stone Mountain and Gillian Wilson of Carrollton. Breath, Boom contains some violence and graphic language. Tickets are $5 for adults and are free for students with a UWG ID card.
