UWG to Introduce One-Card System Novembe 26, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - To improve financial services for students, the University of West Georgia has contracted with a private firm called Higher One to provide students with one-card banking and electronic funds disbursement. Higher One offers customized private label and one-card banking services to higher education institutions. The University’s new one-card system will provide easy access to a variety of customized banking services using what will be called the West Georgia OneCard. Starting in spring semester 2004, the card will automatically be offered as a benefit of enrollment at UWG. The West Georgia OneCard will function as a MasterCard Debit Card, which is accepted by more than 31 million merchants worldwide. It can serve as a primary bank account, allowing cardholders to get cash from ATMs, write checks, send and receive money electronically, and monitor their accounts online.
