DeVillier Scholarship Award

CARROLLTON, GA - The DeVillier Family Trust Fund Scholarship at the University of West Georgia was awarded to Ashli Cross (center), junior from Carrollton. Dr. J. Lincoln DeVillier (r) and Dr. Carol Wilson, undergraduate program coordinator for UWG’s Nursing Department, congratulate Cross on her selection for the scholarship. This scholarship was established in 1995 and is awarded annually to nursing students. DeVillier and his wife Mary Anne, both former UWG professors, established the fund to express their gratitude to the military nurses of World War II for their care of the wounded and sick. The fund also serves to honor the heroic efforts of military nurses and to ensure there will be future “angels of mercy.”
