UWG's InTech Program Awarded November 6, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - The University of West Georgia is one of several sites across the state to offer the InTech program which was recently awarded the Georgia Staff Development Council’s Best Professional Development Program of the Year Award. InTech is an instructional re-design that implements professional development activities to enhance teachers skills in a variety of levels. The program focuses on integrating technology in the student-centered classroom to provide new methods of teaching and learning. “More than 40,000 educators have received credit for meeting the Georgia technology requirement through participating in InTech,” said Jane Royall, Department of Education. InTech is a seven-day program requiring participating educators to spend a total of 50 hours in training. Educators come together in this collaborative effort and share their knowledge of technology in the classroom, as well as develop technology-connected lessons for their classrooms.
