Business Professor Recognized November 17, 2003 CARROLLTON, GA - Dr. Alexa North, professor of management and business systems at the University of West Georgia, received the 2003 Senior College/University Teacher of the Year Award from the Georgia Business Education Association (GBEA) at its annual conference this fall.
GBEA is a part of the 12-state region for the Southern Business Education Association, which is an affiliate of the National Business Education Association. Its purpose is to serve individuals and groups involved in instruction, administration, research and dissemination of information for or about business at all instructional levels. To be eligible for the GBEA Teacher of the Year Award, the nominee must be a GBEA member currently teaching business courses. Selection focuses on achievements made in the last five years, and criteria include the quality and quantity of publications and presentations, recommendation letters from students and colleagues, and active participation in professional organizations. “It is quite an honor to be recognized from among the many outstanding college and University business educators in Georgia,” says North. “I greatly appreciate the thoughtfulness, effort and recognition of the people who nominated me.” -30- Click
