Three RCOB students compete in Business Simulation

CARROLLTON,
GA - Three University of West Georgia students from the strategic
management class of Dr. Jonathan R. Anderson, (at left) assistant professor
of management and business systems, and one UWG student from the graduate
accounting class of Dr. Bob Cluskey, professor of accounting, competed
in a national business simulation competition held Nov. 1-11. Teams participated
in the Foundation Competition Game sponsored by Capsim Simulation, Inc.,
where each team made managerial decisions for a $40 million electronics
components company through eight business cycles of research and development,
production, marketing, and finance. Each team competed in a simulated
business environment opposing computer-based teams. In total 65 student
teams from across the country completed the competition in this division.
Accounting graduate student Valentin Todorov finished 31 of 62, management
students (second from left) Nick Shepherd and Ryan Harcher, both of Douglasville,
finished 53 of 65 and (at right) management student Blake Hyde of Dallas
finished 57 of 65.
