Professor awarded Spencer Foundation Grant

CARROLLTON, GA - Dr. Kareen Ror Malone, Professor of Psychology at the University of West Georgia, has been awarded a two-year Spencer Foundation small research grant.
According to the official website, this is a “very intense” nationally competitive grant. Malone is the first person to receive such a grant at UWG.
Malone, along with Dr. Gilda Barabino from Northeast University as well as Dr. Wendy Newstetter and Dr. Nancy Nersessian from the Georgia Institute of Technology, will research laboratory experiences of women and women of color.
This research was made possible by an earlier collaboration between UWG and Georgia Tech on gender, laboratory learning and social factors, which was funded by the National Science Foundation. Work for attaining the grant was also helped by a research grant from the Learning Resources Committee at UWG.
