LRC Announces New Employees

CARROLLTON, GA - The Learning Resource Center at the University of West Georgia announces the addition of two new full time staff members, according to Brian McCrary, assistant director of Information Technology Services (ITS).

Rebecca Reeves will serve as Media Utilization Specialist. Her primary duties will be to develop and present training of campus instructional technology equipment and to assist faculty, staff and students in the use of instructional technology.

Reeves is a UWG graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters of Education in Media with emphasis on Instructional Technology.

She was employed at West Central Technical College as an instructor for Computer Information Systems classes. Her work background includes web master, online learning coordinator, technology trainer and media/technology specialist.

“Rebecca’s diverse technical and training skills coupled with her knowledge of the campus will make her a great benefit to the University,” McCrary said.

Jerome Dunson will serve as EDP Technical Support Specialist. His duties will primarily be focused on the delivery and maintenance of the LRC loaner equipment and technical support of campus instructional technology equipment.

Dunson will graduate from West Georgia on Dec. 13 with the Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a history minor. As a student employee, he worked with LRC delivering, installing and troubleshooting instructional technology equipment across campus. He also worked for the central warehouse.

“Jerome’s knowledge of the Learning Resource Center, AV equipment, campus, faculty, staff and students will make him an asset to our department,” McCrary noted.

Dunson will begin work on Dec. 11 and Reeves’ employment begins January 2, 2004.
