Staying Home Is Not An Option

31 May 2004

My life changed Setptember 04, 2001. I was at the gym working out which I did four times a week. I passed out. I had a MRI done and the doctors found out that I had a huge brain stem aneurysm that leaked.

The doctor did not know how to peform surgery on me. The doctors did treat me and said I would have a 100% recovery. But two weeks later I stroked out and my right side was paralized.

I also have a lot of balance problems and double vision. I cannot drive any more because my equilumum is out of wack. Is this a success story? I don't know.

I go to rehab 3 times a week hopefully one day I will go back to work. I am only 44 years old an staying home is not an option for me.

Update 25 June 2008

Since my aneurysm I moved down to Georgia I live in a adult forster care. My wife and I seperated she moved down here to be with the kids but she is fifty minutes away so I don't not see her much and the kids. I am still paralized on the right side and still have double vision. I wear a AFO on my right foot I cannot walk without this.

It has been tuff but I will get though it.

Hugs,Marty
