Fields of study: U.S. labor, U.S. South, history of technology

Dr. Hild is the author of two books, co-author of another, and co-editor of a fourth. His book
Arkansas’s Gilded Age: The Rise, Decline, and Legacy of Populism and Working-Class Protest
(University of Missouri Press, 2018) won the Arkansas Historical Association’s J.G. Ragdale Book
of the Year Award. Reconsidering Southern Labor History: Race, Class, and Power (University
Press of Florida, 2018), which he co-edited with Keri Leigh Merritt, won the United Association
for Labor Education’s Award for the Best Book Related to Labor Education, 2018-19. He is
currently co-editing a book on the history of Gwinnett County, Georgia.
