Biography

John Blair studied in Munich and Berlin before receiving his Ph.D. in German language and literature from Indiana University in Bloomington. He taught at the University of Reno, Nevada, for three years before accepting a position here at the University of West Georgia. His specialty is eighteenth-century German literature culminated in a book entitled Transgressive Currents in Goethe's Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship. Following an interest in German Film, he has published on Margarethe von Trotta, Josef von Sternberg, Rainer Maria Fassbinder, Tom Tykwer, Philipp Stölz, and DEFA.
