Lara Willox, Ph.D.

Lara Willox is an Associate professor and chair of Educational Technology and Foundations. Her teaching and research focus on socially just and responsible education. As a social studies scholar she focuses her research agenda on social studies education, transformative education and the inclusion of LGBTQ topics in teacher preparation / K-12 schools. She is active in the National Council for the Social Studies. Prior to completing her doctorate at UNC Chapel Hill, she taught for twelve years in public elementary schools in Charlotte, North Carolina.
