Job Responsibilities: Provide leadership to a team of eight professional staff, four graduate assistants, and approximately 130 student team members who carry out the functional areas of the department: club sports, facility and event management, fitness, intramural sports, marketing and communications, outdoor recreation, and student training and development, manage a departmental budget of approximately $3M dollars comprised of multiple funding sources that supports all departmental operations and debt retirement, supervise the overall management and operation of the Campus Center, a 131,000 sq. ft facility, serve as departmental project manager for Campus Center renovations and enhancements, develop and maintain a repair and replacement plan for capital equipment owned by the department, and utilize the plan to effectively maintain state-of-the-art equipment in UREC facilities and programs, develop annual goals, learning outcomes, appropriate assessment tools, and a calendar of events/programs designed to maximize participation, learning, and engagement in each specific UREC functional area, maintain and develop positive working relationships with key university personnel in Facility Operations, Procurement/Purchasing, Legal and Risk Management, University Communications and Marketing, Athletics, and other departments essential to the success of UREC, serve as co-chair of the Wolf Wellness Council, and serve on other university or divisional committees as needed, actively seek collaborative opportunities with other areas of Student Life and the university at large when appropriate to maximize resources and provide co-curricular opportunities for student learning and development, prepare departmental annual report and other periodic reports
