In May 2010, I graduated from the College of Family and Consumer Science at the University of Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Furnishings and Interiors. Shortly thereafter, I opened a small business in downtown Villa Rica, Georgia. During the four years I owned and operated that second-hand bookstore, I learned a lot about books, education, and customer service. When I decided to take the next step in my career, I knew I wanted to pursue a helping profession, so I enrolled in the University of West Georgia's Master's degree program in Professional Counseling and College Student Affairs. During my time in graduate school, I had the opportunity to work and intern in several departments across campus. Upon graduation in 2016, I knew I loved UWG so much that I wanted to stay and work on-campus. I joined the Continuing Education team, and now I work with corporate contracts, computer training, and UWG Newnan programming.
