Residence Life Coordinator
Hello, my name is Hailey E. Macke, I and I am the proud Residence Life Coordinator of Oaks, Bowdon, and Gunn. I grew up in a rural town in Indiana where I have a big family that supports my nomadic life. I moved to Indianapolis to earned my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Here is where I found my passion to work on college campuses specifically with Housing and Residence life and Health Promotion. I moved to Texas in the summer of 2015 and earned my Masters of Education Administrations with a specialty in Student Affairs and Administration and Higher Education from Texas A&M University. I continued to work in Housing and Residence Life while also learning and partaking in their traditions. I have had the opportunity to be a part of creating new or carrying out existing large events and I hope to Howl with the Wolves of West Georgia and continue making a difference in my sphere of influence.
There are so many generas in Higher Education and Student affairs but I am specifically passionate about helping students to find their place in college, help others to understand people who are different than themselves, and health promotion. I value the experience of “Explore New”. This could be new food, new book, new church, new town. I believe that by taking on new experiences we can better understand each other and that may lead to change. Even small change is important and it can perpetuate into big change. If you are ever wanting to stop by my office and tell me about yourself, values, views, ambitions, or experiences I would love your company. As I mentioned I am also passionate about health promotion if you ever see me out walking my dog Wilbur please stop and say hello and walk a little with us.
I am the Residence Life Coordinator for The Oaks which is on the East Side. We are all first year residence halls on this side of campus. I supervise The Oaks Graduate Resident Director and a student staff of 16 Resident Assistants. We aim to Lead, Serve, and Impact. GO WEST GO WOLVES!
