I graduated with a BA in English and History from Virginia Tech. I then graduated with a MA in English/English Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. I received my PhD from Old Dominion University in Curriculum and Instruction with a cognate in Library Science. My research interests include Intellectual Freedom, advocacy for library programs, and the building of communities of practice within the library science academic community.
