Carrollton Center for the Arts
Tuesday, October 12, 2021 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM
Join us for this blockbuster The Other Night School as it returns to Carrollton! This time, we have a talk and an exhibition.
Our Carrollton location has moved. We are now teaming up with the Carrollton Center for the Arts to offer a talk by superstar speaker Dr. Nathan Rees, Associate Professor of Art History.
Talk: Is a truthful image an accurate representation of what the eye sees, or must representations of “reality” require the unseen truth of ideas? What truths can we learn from artworks that are all about illusion? Come explore the contentious and eye-opening debate about truth versus illusion in the history of art.
This talk will coincide and dialogue with the Verisimilitude photography exhibition, featuring work by UWG Art faculty John Morris, Casey McGuire, and Mark Schoon.
Open to the public: 6:00 pm reception, 6:30 pm talk
