The University will celebrate the LGBT community in October. The celebration will encourage honest and openness about being LGBT and also includes National Coming Out Day which is celebrated on October 11th. The Presidential Proclamation is done in June for LGBT Gay Pride Month.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month
The university will celebrate individuals with disabilities and their contribution to the workforce in October. Also, at this event, the Presidential Proclamation is read.
Older Americans Month Celebration
The University will celebrate the contributions made by older Americans to the nation. Older Americans have many experiences, and they share them daily by, among other things, volunteering in their communities (.http://www.aoa.gov). The Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration on Aging develops a theme each year in recognition of Older Americans Month. May of each year is Older Americans Month.
Women’s History Month Celebration
The University celebrates the contributions women have made to the nation in March.
The Women History month celebration traces its roots to the National Women’s History
Project. Also, at this event, the Presidential Proclamation is read.
