UWG economist Kim Holder will present Build a Better Future with Your Money on Tuesday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ingram Library. Ms. Holder’s presentation will focus on helping college students – and any others interested – plan for their financial future in easy, yet substantial ways.

Program photo of stacks of coins increasing in sizeMs. Holder serves as Director of the UWG Center for Economic Education and teaches the university’s financial literacy course. She travels throughout the nation speaking to groups at universities, private organizations, and is a frequent economics educator for Federal Reserve Bank programs as well as for state councils on economic education. She was named UWG’s “Employee of the Year” for 2017.

This is a “can’t miss” opportunity to boil down the often dizzying world of finance to bite-sized steps that will pay off in the future. Rather than separating “finance” from “emotions”, Ms. Holder will convey that what one is passionate about can be the driving force to making dreams and goals a reality. Even students on the smallest budget can begin taking actions today that will have a huge impact on their future.

As part of the program, there will be a drawing of ten $10.00 gift cards from Starbucks and five Chick-fil-A gift cards. You must be present to enter the drawing. In addition, a wide assortment of refreshments will be served.

Build a Better Future with Your Money is co-sponsored by Ingram Library’s Penelope Melson Society and the UWG Center for Economic Education. This event is free and open to the public. Special public parking is being provided in the Townsend Center Gated Lot, beginning at 10:00 a.m. For further information contact (678) 839-5337.
