Phillip D. Grant, Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Phillip D. Grant, Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Educational Research at the University of West Georgia department of Leadership, Research, and School Improvement. Phillip received a B.A. in History and Political Science from The University of Alabama in 2011, an M.P.A. from The University of Alabama in 2013, and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2018 with the Certificate in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies. Phillip conducted education research at The University of Alabama's Education Policy Center from 2012-2013 and the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia from 2015-2018. He is involved in several professional organizations, including the American Educational Research Association (AERA), the National Rural Education Association (NREA), and the Comparative and International Educational Society (C&IES). Phillip's research interests lie in linking higher education access to rural students and providing advanced curricular opportunities to K-12 students in remote locations.
