Sasha McBurse, MS

Sasha McBurse joined the University of West Georgia in Fall 2018, with years of experience in health and wellness. Her previous work includes positions in cardiac rehab, worksite wellness, community wellness, and youth fitness. Ms. McBurse attended the University of Georgia, earning a Master’s in Kinesiology. During her time at the university she developed and managed activity programs for The Center for Physical Activity and Health and assisted with clinical research evaluating body composition and exercise training in women. Prior to joining UWG, Ms. McBurse was an Instructor at Clayton State University in Health and Fitness Management.

Ms. McBurse is a certified Exercise Physiologist and Clinical Exercise Physiologist licensed by the American College of Sports Medicine. She is an American Heart Association BLS Instructor and Lifestyle Coach for the CDC's National Diabetes Prevention Program. Recently, she became a certified Functional Movement Specialist to educate others on the importance of effective movement for better quality of life. Early in her career, she developed community wellness programs for underserved neighborhoods of West Atlanta. In her spare time, she volunteers in her community and travels with friends. She loves outdoor activities and playing basketball. She also loves attending sporting events and concerts. Her greatest joy in the profession is helping others learn the value and benefits of physical activity.
