Like a modern-day Dante, UWG alumnus Matthew O’Brien first descended into the underbelly of Las Vegas nearly 20 years ago. The author later chronicled his journey in “Beneath the Neon,” taking readers through the pseudo-purgatory flood channels and introducing them to the subterranean souls inhabiting them.

UWG Announces 2020-21 Basketball Schedule
The Gulf South Conference Board of Directors has approved a 20-game conference schedule for men’s and women’s basketball beginning on Dec. 9, 2020. UWG will host Montevallo in men’s play on Dec. 9, with the women traveling that day to play the Falcons in Alabama.

UWG Increases Enrollment for Fall 2020
The University of West Georgia reported an increase in enrollment with 13,419 students for fall 2020, according to preliminary numbers. Enrollment for the university increased 1.4 percent from last year’s 13,238 students.
