The School of Nursing at the University of West Georgia participates in Program Assessment activities on several levels.

National Level:

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through December 31, 2018. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate and graduate education programs preparing effective nurses. It serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. Information about the Commission and its accreditation standards can be found on its website.

State Level:

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program has full approval by the The Georgia Board of Nursing, the regulatory agency for the practice of professional nursing by registered nurses (RN) in Georgia. It develops rules and regulations that set the standards for nursing practice and education, provides the minimum qualifications for licensure, and ensures that disciplinary process is implemented in a fashion that guarantees due process and public protection. Information about the Board and its Rules and Regulations can be found on its website.

School and Institution Level:

The School of Nursing assesses program quality on a regular basis according to its Total Plan for Evaluation. In addition, Annual Reports are completed each spring. The School completed a Five Year Report for the University System of Georgia during the 2007-2008 Academic Year.

The relationship between institutional goals and program objectives is demonstrated in the UWG/BSN Table and the UWG/MSN Table.
