Career Development Specialist
Ian Houston is an alum of the University of West Georgia. He received a bachelor of science in sociology with a minor in Africana studies in 2013. Ian found his research interests in critical pedagogy, social justice, and academic empowerment in public schools. This led to his enrollment at Georgia State University where he pursued and completed his masters degree in social foundations of education. Professionally, Ian has more than 6 years' experience in workforce development and career services; specifically in the nonprofit and government sectors. Ian founded, True-Liif C & M, Inc. which serves youth and their families in Atlanta. As of Spring 2019, Ian will continue his education as he pursues his second master's degree in school counseling here at UWG.
