Research. Collaborate. Share.

The Center for Public History at the University of West Georgia researches, documents, preserves, and promotes public discussion of the history and cultural, architectural, and folklife resources of the broader West Georgia region.

We work with the UWG History Program to preserve our regional history for future generations.

The Center directly supports our graduate and undergraduate students, who have the opportunity to conduct research in their chosen field and gain real-world experience at the Center, while in turn giving back to our west georgia community by recognizing and preserving its rich history. We are open to visitors and researchers by appointment.
