M-cubed: McNuggets, Money, & Mathematics: UWG Math Club holds Fall 2021 meeting
Students and Mathematics faculty recently got together for the first meeting of the UWG Math Club after a several year hiatus. The group discussed re-establishing the Math Club as a student group that is open to ALL students interested in math (not just majors!) and future events for Spring 2022 semester. The meeting also included a seminar presentation by Dr. David Leach entitled “McNuggets, Money, and Mathematics” that discussed how to solve counting problems using polynomials and infinite series.

Proud to be UWG: Jeremiah Liscum, Computer Science
Computer Science graduate Jeremiah Liscum explains how UWG gave him a second chance to pursue a professional career, offering a more “intimate experience” than larger universities. His professors helped him “make it to the next level,” as he was forced to juggle school and work when put on active military duty during COVID. He now plans to become a military officer in cybersecurity.
