Mission Accomplished: UWG Physics Alum’s Career Blasts Off at NASA
When UWG last sat down to chat with physics alumnus Roger Lascorz, he dreamed of working at NASA. It was a giant leap that would be the result of several steps for the Catalonia, Spain, native who moved to Carrollton as a 16-year-old international student. Five years after our initial interview, we found Lascorz right where he predicted he’d be – NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

Ring of Fire: UWG to Commemorate 2017 Eclipse with Unique Research Trip, Community Observation
For the first time in a century, a total solar eclipse will cross the country on Aug. 21. Advances made in transportation, technology and communications since 1919 provide scholars at the University of West Georgia a unique opportunity to study Earth, the sun and their interaction.
